        Edward Glenn Biggs |

               WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        commemorates the life of Edward Glenn Biggs, who died May 26,  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        2015, at the age of 82; and | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
               WHEREAS, Glenn Biggs was born on June 10, 1932, to Ben and  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Clara Stucke Biggs in a small ranching community near San Angelo;  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        while attending Baylor University, he met the love of his life,  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Ann Carolyn Dendy; they enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        together and were blessed with two children and four  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        grandchildren; and | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
               WHEREAS, Glenn's professional career included service with  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Guadalupe Mountains National  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Park, Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives Ben Barnes,  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        First National Bank of San Antonio, the City Public Service board  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        in San Antonio, and Texas Heritage Bank in Boerne and Leon  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Springs; and | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
               WHEREAS, He served on numerous corporate boards, including  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        House of InterFirst Corporation, Valero Energy, and the Zachry  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Company; he served in an advisory capacity for such institutes as  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        the Southwest Research Institute, The University of Texas at San  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Antonio, and The University of Texas Health Science Center; he  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        also served on the board of Morningside Ministries; and | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
               WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        his daily life, Mr. Biggs was a loyal member of First Baptist  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Church; and | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
               WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        counsel will not be forgotten; and | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
               WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        treasured forever by his family and countless friends; now,  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        therefore, be it | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
               RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        family of Edward Glenn Biggs; and, be it further | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
               RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in  | 
      
      
        | 
           
			 | 
        memory of Glenn Biggs. |
